Nimbus Air
This project was just to create a coffee maker. I wanted to take the heavy visual "weight" of a typical coffee maker and lighten it. An espresso maker made the most sense in terms of how it works and functions.

The Nimbus Air is meant to complement a kitchen environment. Be functional but also a sculptural piece that is pleasing to look at when not in use.
Sketching & Ideation
This sketching and ideation process was based on the research of basic components that an espresso maker needs.
In order to achieve my goal of lightening the weight of an espresso machine, it needed to visually convey a smaller footprint. I really wanted the machine to be held up on its legs so that there was breathing room around where the espresso pours out below.
